People come to me and tell me they were promised to be able to speak Arabic after 6 months. I say, great. What are you expected to learn after 2 weeks? 2 months? 4 months? They usually have not been told that. They just know they were told they would speak in 6 months.
Committing yourself to such promises will get you no where. Whoever promises to make you speak must give you a plan with deliverables and dates. If you commit to a 1 month course, understand exactly where will you be with your speaking after the 1st week, the 2nd week, the 3rd week, and so on. Demand this, you are paying money to speak not to be promised you would speak.
